What the rate on this page means
The figures above are indicative rates per gram. Each rate shows its source and the date and time it was last updated in Indian Standard Time. A published rate is not the final amount for a specific item: that depends on the gold’s tested purity, its net gold weight, applicable deductions and our buying policy on the day.
Rate status
- Current — updated today and within the last 12 hours.
- Delayed — updated earlier; still shown with its timestamp so you can judge it, but call for the latest rate.
- Unavailable — no recent rate. Numbers are hidden rather than showing an out-of-date figure. Call +91 90086 78434 for the latest buying rate.
How the value of your gold is calculated
In simple terms:
Value ≈ net gold weight (g) × rate per gram for the tested purity − applicable deductions
- Net gold weight excludes stones, beads, wax, lac and other non-gold materials.
- Tested purity is measured on a gold testing machine — not assumed from a stamp.
- Deductions, where they apply, are explained to you before you decide.
Why gold rates change
Gold prices in India move with international gold prices, the rupee–dollar exchange rate, import duties and taxes, and local demand — which rises around weddings and festivals. Rates can change during the day, which is why every rate here carries a timestamp.
Why buying and selling rates differ
The price you pay for new jewellery usually includes making charges and GST. When you sell, you are paid for the gold content only, based on purity and net weight. That is why the amount for old jewellery is different from what the same piece would cost to buy new.
