Before you sell: a quick checklist
A few minutes of preparation makes the visit faster and helps you understand the offer.
- Gather the pieces you want to sell and keep them separate from anything you want to keep.
- Look for hallmarks. Hallmarked jewellery usually carries a purity mark such as “22K916”. It is a useful guide, but purity is still checked at the branch.
- Find your invoices if you have them. If not, bring two documents that show your photo ID and current address.
- Check the day’s rate. Call us or see the gold rate page — remembering that the published rate is indicative.
How the amount is worked out
The value of your gold depends on its tested purity, its net gold weight (stones and other materials are not counted as gold), the prevailing rate and any applicable deductions. Our team explains each of these before you decide, so you know exactly how the figure was reached.
Two pieces of the same weight can be worth different amounts if one is 22K and the other 18K, or if one contains heavy stones. That is why an exact figure can only be given once the gold has been checked.
How payment works
Payment is made once you accept the offer and KYC is complete. Bank transfer is available. Please ask our team about payment options when you call, so you know what to expect before you visit.
Is selling the right choice?
Selling suits gold you no longer wear or need. If you need money only for a short time and want the jewellery back later, compare the cost of a gold loan with selling. And if your gold is already pledged and the interest keeps growing, releasing and selling it may be worth discussing with our team.
Your decision, always
A valuation does not commit you to anything. If you are not comfortable with the offer, you can take your gold home. See how the process works or find your nearest branch.
